MSI Gaming (MEG / MPG / MAG)

Follow the guide for your motherboard.

TPM 2.0 Secure Boot UEFI Virtualization
i Before changing settings

Menu names depend on the model and BIOS version. Check your board manual and change only the listed settings.

Check the boot mode first: Win + R → msinfo32. If BIOS Mode is Legacy, prepare Windows for UEFI before disabling CSM, or the system may fail to boot.

If device encryption or BitLocker is enabled, save your recovery key first. Do not clear TPM or delete Secure Boot keys. Restoring factory keys is not suitable for every setup, especially with multiple operating systems.

This guide covers basic BIOS settings. If the anti-cheat separately requests IOMMU, VBS or a firmware update, follow the instructions for that error.

FACEIT requirements

Entering BIOS

How to open your motherboard settings.

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. At the MSI logo, press Delete.
  3. EZ Mode opens with basic information.
  4. Press F7 to switch to Advanced Mode.

Virtualization

Enable processor virtualization support.

On MSI gaming boards, CPU virtualization settings are in the overclocking menu, rather than Settings / Advanced. Look in OC.

For Intel

  1. Go to the OC (Overclocking) tab.
  2. Open CPU Features (or Advanced CPU Configuration).
  3. Find Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x).
  4. Set it to Enabled.

For AMD

  1. Go to the OC (Overclocking) tab.
  2. Open CPU Features (or Advanced CPU Configuration).
  3. Find SVM Mode.
  4. Set it to Enabled.

TPM 2.0

Enable your computer's security module.

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Open Security.
  3. Open the Trusted Computing submenu.
  4. Find Security Device Support.
  5. Set it to Enabled.
  6. After enabling it, check that the TPM information shows TPM 2.0.

UEFI mode and CSM

Prepare the boot mode for Secure Boot.

If Windows boots in Legacy mode, prepare the switch to UEFI first. Do not disable CSM without checking this.

  1. Go to the Settings tab.
  2. Open Advanced.
  3. Open Windows OS Configuration.
  4. Find BIOS UEFI/CSM Mode or Boot mode select.
  5. Set it to UEFI.

The boot-mode option varies by BIOS version. If you see Windows 10 WHQL Support, check its value in the manual for your exact model.

Secure Boot

Enable Windows Secure Boot.

  1. Stay in Settings → Advanced → Windows OS Configuration.
  2. Find Secure Boot.
  3. Set it to Enabled.
If Secure Boot will not activate
  1. If Secure Boot is inactive or grayed out, save with F10, restart and re-enter BIOS. Switching to UEFI may require a restart before Secure Boot becomes available.
  2. If it still will not activate after restarting, open Key Management and select Install Default Secure Boot Keys.

Save settings

Apply changes and restart.

  1. F10 → OK → Restart.
